Two creamy, delicious holiday drinks. One with eggs, the traditional way. One without, the easy way.
TRADITIONAL EGG NOG
• 6 eggs.
• 6 tbsps sugar.
• ½ cup Dzama Cuvée Noire Prestige rum.
• 2 cups heavy cream.
Whip egg whites and beat yolks separately. Add sugar to the yolks while beating. Very slowly, add rum to the beaten yolks little by little. Add cream. Gradually, fold in whipped egg whites until fully mixed. Put in refrigerator and serve cold. Optional: sprinkle a pinch of very finely ground cinnamon on each serving.
VANILLA PUNCH WITH DZAMA RUM
For each serving:
• 1 ½ tbsp Ambrée de Nosy-Be Prestige rum.
• ½ tbsp quality dark crème de cacao (DeKuyper is good).
• 1/2 tpsp condensed milk.
• ¼ cup Haagen-Dazs Vanilla Ice Cream.
In a small mixing bowl, combine rum, crème de cacao, and condensed milk. Mix until condensed milk is fully disolved. Place in freezer for about an hour. Then, add ice cream, making sure it is solidly frozen. Crush with a spoon until a thick mixture (do not use a blender). Pour into a chilled martini glass and sprinkle a dash of finely ground nutmeg (optional).
